Our cabinet interior is made from domestic maple pre finished plywood.
We do not use cheap imported plywood that is often not as structurally sound and has a high formaldehyde level.
Exposed cabinet ends and trim are matched to the door species.
We use the highest quality hardware (Blum Inc) manufacturer for hinges ans drawer slides.
Kitchens vary widely in price depending on a number of factors.
1. Adding and removing walls, new electrical and plumbing can vary greatly based on quality and the type of material they are made of. Additionally, and obviously, the size of the room makes a difference.
2. Prices vary widely depending on what you choose for appliances, fixtures, and surfaces including counter tops and floors.
3. Additionally, your cabinet-related material selections and accessories have an impact. These include door material, door finish, interior finish and accessories such as hardware, rollout shelves, lazy susans, spice racks, crown moulding, light valances.
Like any major purchase, you should only spend what you can afford to spend. That means setting a budget and try to keep it in check.
Explore all options and compare apples to apples. Compare your return on investment with a custom job that sets your room or home apart from using stock kitchen cabinets that can be quite generic looking.
We believe money spent locally stays in the community, most of our suppliers are with local family businesses.
Yes, but chances are you might be disappointed when you are finished. These changes are cosmetic and don’t solve functional problems in the kitchen. Often drawer glides are inadequate and rollout shelves are nonexistent. Edge taping the front of the face frame can be problematic; it often peels away. An existing kitchen design and layout may not necessarily work out well for your needs today.
Another reason not to reface is the structural integrity of the old cabinets, they may not stand up to the weight of common heavier tops used today such as granite and quartz.
Like most things, if it's cheap, it's cheap for a reason. While we can't compete with mass produced cheap materials and labor, we believe we offer a higher quality product dollar for dollar with greater accessibility and storage space with our “frameless” cabinets as compared to the “face frame” cabinets sold by large home centers.
For a fair comparison, One should really add up all the little add on costs from the big box stores, like filler strips, crown moulding, finished ends & kick panels, assembly, delivery and installation.
Frame less style cabinets (or European ) is where the door and drawer overlap the front of the cabinet box. When the doors are in the closed position, there is about 1/8” of a gap (reveal) between one door and the next. This style allows for more accessories and saves a great deal of space. Accessories like roll out shelves and adjustable shelves can easily be added even years after the initial cabinet installation.
Face frame cabinets have a solid frame attached to the front of the cabinet box usually about 2” wide. The door is hinged off of this frame, overlapping the frame by 1/2”. This does not seem like a lot of space to loose, but when you add all the frames in a typical kitchen it is quite substantial. Also the frame is not not as functional as frame less for adding accessories. click for top of page
The short answer is we have a workshop.
Most of these showrooms are simply buying pre made cabinets from a number of “cabinet lines”from out of state and sometimes out of the country and resold for a high mark up. These cabinets are restricted to increment measurements of 3” so the designer is limited to whatever the “ cabinet line” offers.
This is never the case with us, cabinets are made to any size, width, depth or height that fits your needs.
